...The Burnout

Jan 30, 2026

Burnout is not a failure of ambition.
It is not a lack of discipline.
It is not proof that you couldn’t handle it.

Burnout is what happens when your nervous system has been loyal for too long.

When you keep showing up composed
while absorbing urgency that was never yours to carry.
When you keep translating chaos into competence.
When you keep regulating rooms that never pause to ask what it costs you.

Burnout doesn’t announce itself loudly.
It arrives quietly.

As exhaustion you explain away.
As irritation you swallow.
As a tightness in the body you ignore because there’s still work to do.

And if you are waiting for things to calm down before you take care of yourself,
notice this:

That moment never arrives.

The system will not soften on its own.
The demands will not suddenly become reasonable.
The pace will not slow because you are tired.

Burnout is not the breaking point.
It is the signal.

A signal that something in you is asking to be heard
before it has to force you to listen.

This is not about quitting.
It’s about choosing yourself while you’re still standing.

Clarity does not live at the edge of exhaustion.
It lives above it.

And sometimes the most powerful move
is not pushing through,
but pausing long enough to feel what you’ve been carrying.

Sit with that.
